Books:
I have read many books over the years. Mark Kohler (tax attorney and CPA) has by far the best material for small businesses to help save on taxes.
- What Your CPA Isn’t Telling You: Life-Changing Tax Strategies
- The Business Owner’s Guide to Financial Freedom: What Wall Street Isn’t Telling You
- 8 Steps to Start and Grow Your Business Paperback
Once you get your business up and running and making some money, I highly suggest you look at doing a self-directed IRA and/or 401k.

Website
- I have been using A2 Hosting for years. They have been great to work with. If you want to sign up, I have an affiliate link here. http://www.a2hosting.com/?aid=65a1c78b7215d&cid=edae5de3
- When it comes to creating a website, some websites have what you see as what you get (WYSIWYG and pronounced wiz-e-wig). This looks like Microsoft PowerPoint where you can drag and drop things. You also have another option, and it is called WordPress. While it was scary at first, I prefer WordPress as there are all sorts of plugins for WordPress. There are also many free themes out there for WordPress you can use. I highly suggest you watch some YouTube tutorials on setting up WordPress and using it. Many website hosting platforms have simplified the WordPress install and have it as simple as a button push. A2 Hosting has a video here on installing WordPress on a managed server. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mjNqaVG8CI

Convertkit (Email Marketing)
I have used Converkit for years. I highly suggest you use them. They have really good deliverability compared to other entities. This is extremely key.
From 2016-2019, I was at Convertkit. Things worked great. Switched to GetResponse. Things “felt” like they went downhill. I had less responses. Less clicks. Etc. Deliverability on the dashboard with GetResponse appeared ok. I read a bunch of articles. Came across this one. https://www.emailtooltester.com/en/email-deliverability-test/ At the time of reading, GetResponse was really goofed over by Gmail. I searched my inactive emails on my list and discovered that a massive amount was all Gmail. Convertkit had good deliverability with Gmail. I played with Glockapps. https://glockapps.
If you do email, I highly suggest you do DMARC, DKIM, and SPF. There are many tutorials online explaining how to do this. Basically, these thing make you’re email very trustworthy in the eyes of the different email sending out there which means greater deliverability.
Boomerang & Streak (For Gmail Organization and CRM)
Need help organizing your emails and potential leads? Streak and Boomerang for Gmail
These are two different plugins. Here is a video on how you can use them.
You can sign up for Streak at this link.
Data Protection
When you sign up online for all sorts of things, your data will get sold. If you file things with the government, some of the filings are public and people scrape that data and add you to a list. Telemarketers will spam call you constantly. This leads to wasted time with spam calls. One thing I have found that cut down on this was using DeleteMe. While I originally went about using them for just scrubbing my info off the internet, it appears to have some influence on the spam calls I have received.
